چکیده

Bitis Arientans are associated with the highest number of morbidity and mortality in Nigeria. The most effective treatments against snakebite is administration antivenom.Antibodies that specific for a single epitope an antigen obtain by isolating antibody-secreting lymphocytes. These lymphocytes found within Splenocytes cells which can be used wide variety immunology-based applications. However, development hybridoma cell rare time consuming. Therefore, valuable materials saved through cryopreservation. This research aimed at Cryopreservation primary splenocytes from Antibody produced mice arientans snake venom. The LD50 venom toxicity was determined according to World Health Organization guidelines. production achieved using six after immunization weeks antibody titer were indirect ELISA method. Myeloma line X63 Ag8.653 cultured Mouse immune response removed aseptically mechanical method viability then isolated cryopreserved cryovial tube stored -80C.The 1.8mg/kg Elisa analysis showed 2 6 elicited IgG Concentration 3.1µg/ml 4.6µg/ml. counted 6.5x10 1.2x10 myeloma 1.95x105 cells. In this finding mouse cryopreserved. Thus, generation monoclonal

Snake Venom, Anti-snake Venom & Potential of Snake Venom

Many active secretions produced by animals have been employed in the development of new drugs to treat diseases such as hypertension and cancer. Snake venom toxins contributed significantly to the treatment of many medical conditions. Venomous snakes have a bad reputation and rightly so because of their often deadly bites. But what makes a snake’s bite so deadly is the venom. Of the 3000 snake ...

Single Chain Antibody Fragment against Venom from the Snake Daboia russelii formosensis

Russell's vipers containing hemotoxic and neurotoxic venom commonly cause snake envenomation. Horse-derived antivenom is a specific antidote, but its production is expensive and has side effects. Developing a cost-effective and more tolerable therapeutic strategy is favorable. In this study, using glutaraldehyde-attenuated Daboia russelii formosensis (DRF) venom proteins to immunize chickens, p...

Thrombin - like Enzyme from the Venom of Bitis gubonicu

Gabonase, an enzyme which acts on fibrinogen and factor XI11 in uniquely thrombin-like ways, was purified to electrophoretic homogeneity from the venom of Bitis gabonica. On sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide electrophoresis, the reduced protein behaved as a single chain with Mr = 30,600. The enzyme contains 20.6% carbohydrate, no free sulfhydryl groups and hence, from amino acid analysis, f...

Two Proteins from Snake Venom have Potent Antibacterial Effects against Bacillus anthracis and Streptococcus pneumoniae

Background: Antibacterial proteins are widely expressed in snake venoms. Previously, we have isolated two immunodominant proteins with molecular weights of 14 and 65kD from the snake venom of Naja naja oxiana (N. oxiana). It was demonstrated that they had potent inhibitory effects against gram-positive bacteria, S. aureus and B. subtilis but were less effective against gram-negative bacteria, s...

From Endotoxin to Snake Venom **

The host-parasite relationship in many infectious diseases of animals and of man continues to challenge the knowledge and imagination, not only of microbiologists and those in other basic disciplines, but that of clinicians as well. There remain many unexplained features of this relationship bearing on the problem as to why invading microorganisms cause illness. One aspect of this relationship ...
